Our Christian faith is never meant to happen in isolation; and rather than viewing the desire for the company of others as a weakness, it should be viewed as a God-given imperative (Matt 18:20). A formal name for this process is Spiritual Accompaniment, and its purpose is to help a Christian disciple grow in their faith through interactions with other Christian disciples. This is the process that Jesus used to form the twelve apostles and through which the apostles ministered to new converts (Acts 2:42-46).
